How do I validate my SSL Certificate? Print

  • 0

There are three main types of validation: Domain Validation (DV), Organization Validation (OV), and Extended Validation (EV).

1. Domain Validation (DV)

The Certificate Authority (CA) verifies ownership through simple checks, such as:

2. Organization Validation (OV)

  • Domain ownership (like DV).

  • Organization details via government or business registries.

  • Contact verification via phone or official email.

3. Extended Validation (EV)

Provides the highest trust by rigorously verifying the organization. The CA performs extensive checks, including:

  • Legal, physical, and operational existence.

  • Confirming the organization’s authority to request the certificate.

  • Verifying identity documents and direct contact.

Please note that the CA may require some extra steps to validate your SSL Certificate.
